As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild essential services, the 2023-24 Budget is delivering a record $3.5 billion for new and upgraded schools in Western Sydney. This targeted investment in growing communities will ensure working families get access to a world class public education.
A new high school is being developed to cater for the growing population in the Wentworth Point, Sydney Olympic Park, Newington, Silverwater and Rhodes communities. A site has been identified on Burroway Road, Wentworth Point.
The project will deliver modern facilities to support flexible learning.
This project was formerly named the ‘Sydney Olympic Park new high school’. The new high school will be named closer to its opening.
The State Significant Development application for the project has been approved and work has started on site.
The school is on track to open for Year 7 students in Term 1 2025.
Wentworth Point new high school has also been announced as part of an Australian-first Culture Standard pilot program at NSW construction sites to improve facilities, working conditions and boost the number of women in construction.
