Meadowbank Public School and Marsden High School have successfully relocated to the Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct following completion of the new schools.
Meadowbank Public School and Marsden High School started Day 1 of Term 2 on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 April respectively. Staff, students and parents had the opportunity to visit the new buildings prior to the school facilities opening, which helped to make the first day at the new school sites a familiar transition.
To ensure the safety of students and the community, School Infrastructure NSW will continue to work with the school leadership and relevant stakeholders to monitor operations at and around the new schools and make adjustments as needed.
As part of the Public Domain Works in the local area, planning is underway to build a footpath along the western side of Hermitage Road between the Sydney Water entrance and Rhodes Street. Safe access for students to the new schools will be provided with traffic controllers in place until the works are complete. We will continue to keep the community updated.
A comprehensive guide to accessing the new schools is available on the school’s respective websites:

What is the Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct?
The NSW Government is reimagining the way we learn and connect. The new Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct will have education at its heart while also connecting students to training and employment opportunities with local industry and the surrounding community. It will be an open, safe place where locals can access shared facilities and new community spaces.
For more information about the project, see the NSW Government's Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct website.
Repurposing the original Marsden High School site
Planning is underway to deliver a multi-sports community facility at the site of the original Marsden High School after the school relocates to the Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct.
Subject to planning approval, this project will deliver:
- A new 5,000 sqm indoor courts facility with 4 multipurpose courts and ancillary spaces
- 32 outdoor netball courts and associated amenities
- Landscaping, including the addition of an E2 ecological protection zone, communal space with open lawns, picnic tables and seating
- New car and bicycle parking spaces.
Work on the concept design for the multi-sports facility is underway. The concept design is being developed following close consultation with City of Ryde Council, Department of Education and technical stakeholders. The community will be invited to see the latest designs and provide feedback at an upcoming information session.
