Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct reaches new heights

The highest point on the new schools at the Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct has been reached with a topping out ceremony held today.
The soon to be completed schools will accommodate 1000 primary school students and 1500 high school students and will be home to the relocated Meadowbank Public School and Marsden High School.
Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell and the Member for Ryde Victor Dominello visited the site today to see the progress of the modern educational facilities.
Ms Mitchell said she was thrilled students will walk through the doors of the new facilities in a matter of months.
“Ryde is being transformed into an education and employment powerhouse. The new precinct is completely focused on the students and their education with integrated primary, secondary and tertiary education on one planned site,” Ms Mitchell said.
“This is a world-leading education precinct and an incredible investment for families in the Ryde area. Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct will become a hub for the whole community to enjoy through school or work.”
Mr Dominello said he was delighted to see the progress of the construction and the potential of the facilities for students to use shortly.
“It’s wonderful to be here today to celebrate this important milestone. Witnessing the progress of construction on site has given us a glimpse into the incredible facilities that will be available to the community,” Mr Dominello said.
“The relocated Meadowbank Public School and Marsden High School will benefit from separate purpose-built facilities including modern and flexible learning spaces, libraries, school halls, as well as covered and uncovered outdoor learning, play and recreational areas. “The precinct will deliver state of the art facilities and opportunities for students in a convenient and accessible location for parents and carers.”
The precinct will also accommodate 120 Intensive English Centre students as well as a new Institute of Applied Technology at the TAFE NSW Meadowbank campus.
The NSW Government is investing $7 billion over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver more than 200 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This is the most significant investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
