We are excited to deliver the Bennelong Sports Centre for the local community. These facilities are now ready for the local community to use.

The sports centre will be operated by The Y NSW with Eastwood Ryde Netball Association (ERNA) as the anchor tenant.

The project has delivered:

a new 5,000 sqm indoor courts facility with 4 multipurpose courts and ancillary spaces
29 outdoor netball courts
reception, offices and break out spaces
change rooms and amenities and first aid room
landscaping, including the addition of a C2 ecological protection zone
communal space with lawns, picnic tables and seating
car park and bicycle parking spaces
accessibility ramps and lift
street lighting upgrade along Winbourne St and Brush Rd

Who will manage the operations of the new facility?

How do I book courts?

What are the operation hours of the Bennelong Sports Centre?

The operation hours for the Bennelong Sports Centre will be rolled out in 2 phases. Hours may vary slightly depending on bookings.

Phase 1 – Initial operations (6 May to 30 June 2026)

Monday to Friday 9 am to 9:30 pm
Saturdays 7 am to 7 pm
Sundays 9 am to 7 pm

Gym facilities will not be operational during Phase 1

Phase 2 – Full operations (from 1 July 2026 onwards)

Monday to Saturday 6 am to 9:30 pm
Sunday 7am to 9 pm

These hours reflect full facility activation, including gym facilities, indoor courts, programs and community use.

Will there be any future expansions of the facility?

The Development Application (DA) for construction of this facility does not include any future proposed works. Any future stages or expansions of the Bennelong Sports Centre would require a separate DA, which would need to consider parking, traffic, the intensification of the use of the site and any other potential impacts.

What actions will be taken to address noise and congestion impacts on neighbours when the facility is operational?

The department won’t be involved in the day-to-day operation of the Bennelong Sports Centre once it’s complete, and traffic management after construction will be overseen by City of Ryde Council and/or Transport for NSW.

If you have ongoing concerns about traffic and parking in the area, you may wish to contact City of Ryde Council and/or Transport for NSW, who are best placed to assist with local traffic congestion and management in the area.

Thirty-three new sport courts are now open in West Ryde, as the NSW Government delivers a major new sporting hub for the Ryde community. Bennelong Sports Centre (formally West Ryde Multi Sports Facility) has officially opened today.
