As part of the NSW Government's plan to build essential services, the 2023-24 Budget is delivering a historic $1.4 billion for new and upgraded schools in regional NSW.This targeted investment in growing communities will ensure working families get access to a world class public education.

Jerrabomberra High School opened to Years 7, 8 and 9 for Day 1 Term 1 2024 in new permanent modern facilities with the capacity for 500 students.

The Development Application for Stage 2 of the project was lodged in mid 2023. When Stage 2 is complete, Jerrabomberra High School will have capacity to cater for up to 1,000 students. For more information about this expansion visit the Jerrabomberra High School - Stage 2 webpage.

Stage 1 of the new high school provides 24 flexible classrooms including 3 support classrooms in modern facilities and also includes:

sports courts
covered outdoor learning area
outdoor space

administration facilities.

What type of high school was constructed?

The new high school in Jerrabomberra is a Years 7 to 12 comprehensive high school.

Our high schools provide students from Years 7 to 12 with a quality education in a broad range of subjects. Our high schools have access to technologies to support the implementation of the NSW Curriculum requirements. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) are essential areas of study that foster students’ skills and prepare them to participate in a rapidly changing world and contribute to Australia’s future development and prosperity.

Subjects offered by secondary schools follow the requirements set by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to enable students to receive their Record of School Achievement or Higher School Certificate.
