As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild essential services, the 2023-24 Budget is delivering a record $3.5 billion for new and upgraded schools in Western Sydney. This targeted investment in growing communities will ensure working families get access to a world class public education.
A new high school in Edmondson Park is currently in the design phase. The high school will include fit-for-purpose classrooms and core facilities to meet the future enrolment needs of the South West Sydney growth area.
Stage 1 of the new high school will provide student capacity for approximately 800 students by 2027, and include the core facilities for the 2,000 student capacity proposed in Stage 2 (subject to Stage 2 Business Case and funding approval).
The department lodged a State Significant Development Application (SSDA) with the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) on 19 March 2024. The SSDA is on public exhibition on the DPHI planning portal between Wednesday 27 March 2024 until Tuesday 23 April 2024.
During the exhibition period you can submit formal feedback on the application by following the ‘Make a Submission‘ link at: https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/major-projects/projects/new-high-school-edmondson-park-0.
All feedback on the SSD application should be directed to DPHI via the link.
Thank you to those that were able to join us for the Information Session held on 4 April 2024 at the Edmondson park Public School.
The aim is to deliver a school that best fits the needs of the community, considers transport and accessibility, and delivers value for money and the best completion time and educational outcomes.
Further updates on the planning for a new high school in Edmondson Park will be released as the project progresses.
