School holiday work

Return to top of page

We regularly inspect and maintain schools as part of a comprehensive and ongoing program to keep school assets in optimal condition and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our school community across more than 2,200 NSW schools.

The school holidays are the ideal time for a lot of maintenance and project work to take place in schools across the state without disrupting learning.

Planned work over the school holidays at some schools may involve working with hazardous materials such as asbestos or lead. This may include proactive inspection, sampling, remediation or removal of the material.

For more information on how we work with hazardous materials, please visit our managing materials web page.

Below are lists of schools that have work involving hazardous materials taking place during the upcoming school holiday period. Some schools receive more detailed communication about work taking place at their school. In these instances, communications are published on their SINSW school webpage (use the search bar on this website to find your school).

2023-24 summer school holidays

Work that may involve hazardous materials during the school holidays will take place at the below schools.

Check the list to find out if your school is included. All work is weather permitting. Please note, ACM refers to “asbestos containing materials”.

Asbestos survey program

As part of our regular maintenance programs and to ensure the health and wellbeing of staff and students across the state, we are continuing our proactive surveying program for asbestos material over the Summer school holiday period.

Independent occupational hygienists have been engaged to test samples at the below schools. The rooms are currently in use as the material is undisturbed.

Following testing, the independent occupational hygienist will advise whether any action is required.
