Box Hill Public School and Box Hill High School

We are still in the planning stages for Box Hill Public School and Box Hill High School. The next stage of the project will be to appoint architects, engineers and planners to develop a master plan and concept design. The project will require development approval. The formal process of gaining this approval is called the statutory planning approval process, which, along with the appointment of a contractor, will establish a timeline for construction starting and finishing. 

We will continue to install the rest of the temporary buildings to welcome students from Years 3 to 6 on Day 1 Term 3 2025.

The area for these additional buildings is fenced off and will remain inaccessible to students and staff

until all works are completed. We will work with the school leadership to minimise disruptions to the

operation of the school whilst this work continues, this may include scheduling some works outside of school hours.

In Day 1 Term 1 2025, the school will cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 2. For Day 1, Term 3, enrolments will expand to include Kindergarten to Year 6.

No. If your child is already attending another public school, such as Rouse Hill Public School, or has already been accepted into another school, you do not need to re-enrol. Your place at the school is not impacted by this change. The department encourages all students to attend the school they are zoned for and will have policies in place to ensure a smooth transition to the new school, including collaboration between staff from both schools to understand each student’s specific learning needs. 

Ongoing demographic analysis of the area will continue as the permanent schools for Box Hill are delivered. This analysis will inform us if there is a need for further educational facilities at the site of the temporary school in Box Hill on George Street in Box Hill.
