Work was delivered in 3 stages via a Review of Environmental Factor (REF) planning pathway.
Stage 3 was completed in February 2025 and included refurbishments of buildings A and B, including converting the previous administration area to a special programs classroom on the ground floor of Building A.
Stage 2 was completed in November 2024 and included extensive upgrades to the heritage-listed School of Arts Building (Building D) and Building C. This provided new administration and executive offices, a staff and accessible toilet, and classrooms. The new stairs and lift were installed in Building C and a new entry gate and fence from the Wentworth Street school entrance.
A conversion of the ground floor of Building D for use as a school administration area, and executive offices. Separate parent and student entries were added, as well as conversion of the first floor of Building D for use as 2 classrooms with new lightweight partition walls.
The new link bridge connecting buildings C and D was also completed. Façade remediation work on buildings C and D involving painting, replacing gutters and downpipes, repointing masonry and the installation of new gutters on Building C were also completed. In Building C a conversion of the ground floor for use as a classroom and upgrades to a first-floor classroom with new lightweight partition walls was also completed.
New timber flooring compliant with heritage requirements was installed on the ground floor in Building D. Several windows were replaced with new heritage-compliant windows. All existing windows in buildings C and D that didn’t need to be replaced were repaired and repainted. Roof replacement work on Building D was completed also.
Stage 1 was completed in February 2024 and included an extension of Building E, including roofing, painting and flooring, a new Outside of School Hours (OOSH) Care kitchen and office in Building E, and new OOSH storerooms in Building D.
