Irrawang High School Upgrade

There has been significant progress on construction of the new learning hub and library extension in Term 3. The new learning hub building pad was created using compacted fill, after which the ground floor and first floor slabs were poured. The contractor has erected scaffolding and constructed structural concrete vertical elements, such as columns. 

The lightweight and structural steel framing to Level 1 has been erected and the roof framing and wall cladding installed. The contractor has also begun preparing to put up the building façade. Internally, the contractor has installed wall framing and started installing services cabling and the internal walls. 

• Work on the library extension has also continued, with external windows and glass doors installed, and works continuing on brickwork and the façade. At the front entrance, the existing entrance structure was demolished and inground services were installed.

New learning hub: 

• roof sheeting to be installed

• face brickwork and façade installation to begin

• ground floor and level 1 internal fitout, including lights, internal walls and ceilings

• level 1 internal wall framing, services and wall sheeting

• windows and glass door installation. 

Library extension:

• complete face brickwork and façade

• internal fitout of extension

• start work on the refurbishment of the existing library. 

Front entrance awning: 

• create the footings and install structural steel columns 

• roof install. 

Completion timeline 

• We are working to deliver these new facilities as quickly as possible. Our current expectation is that they will be finished by mid-2025, but we will continue to look at opportunities to accelerate this wherever possible.
