Moruya High School upgrade

As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Budget is delivering $2.1 billion for new and upgraded schools in regional NSW.

This includes investment in the high potential and gifted education (HPGE) Partner School program, and Moruya High School will receive upgrades to facilitate the delivery of tailored HPGE course offerings. We are also upgrading the Moruya Support Unit to better support students with disabilities and other special needs.

The benefits

Support unit upgrade:
  • replace the existing temporary classrooms with a Support Unit that will cater to the needs of students now and into the future
  • 7 permanent support classrooms with practical activities areas and break out spaces
  • accessible toilets and changerooms with dedicated laundry, kitchen and staffroom
  • covered outdoor learning area (COLA) with soft fall play surface and outdoor play area
  • new access road with undercover drop off area
  • all classrooms within the Support Unit will be fitted with air conditioning and the building will include solar power
High potential gifted education upgrades:
  • Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) classrooms
  • a sports court upgrade including new court surface, fencing and line marking
  • a music room, performance area and sound studio
  • facade upgrade to administration and library/science buildings
  • Installing air conditioning across the school
  • Improvements to senior lockers, a new covered walkway and automated front gate
