Moree Secondary College

Moree Secondary College, a government secondary school located in a prosperous rural community in North West NSW, is part of the Connected Communities strategy. The College provides outstanding opportunities for the young people of Moree to achieve excellence in a supportive environment. In particular extensive support programs are provided for Aboriginal students enrolled at the College. The College has two campuses - Albert Street for students in Years 10-12 and Carol Avenue for students in Years 7-9. Students with interests in academic studies, vocational education, music, drama, creative arts, sport or citizenship have the opportunity to develop their talents at the College. The junior campus uses the latest technology and innovative support programs to cater for the diverse learning needs of students. The senior campus provides increased curriculum opportunities in Years 10, 11 and 12 in a more adult learning environment, preparing students well for tertiary study. Students interested in starting their career in a trade area can get a head start at Moree Secondary College. Students can choose a vocational course as early as Year 9, or a part-time traineeship in Years 11 or 12 to start a career whilst still attending school. The College, as part of the Connected Communities initiative, works with local businesses and community and Government organisations to offer students the chance to prepare themselves for further education and employment opportunities in Moree.
