Maitland High School

Maitland High School is a comprehensive high school catering for students from diverse backgrounds. It has a varied drawing area, including suburban, village and rural settings. The school successfully combines traditions from over 125 with the modern world of education and training. The school community strives to ensure students live by its motto 'En Avant' (Go Forward). The school is located in East Maitland which is part of a rapidly growing conurbation encompassing the Lake Macquarie, Newcastle and Maitland LGAs. The Hunter Region offers an extraordinary range of employment and training opportunities in the coal and allied industries, in horticulture and agriculture and in tourism and hospitality. Further education opportunities are available locally through The University of Newcastle and Hunter TAFE. The school offers a wide curriculum, including a variety of Board-Developed and Board -Endorsed Courses (NSW Board of Studies), Vocational Educational Training Courses (VET) with Workplacement, and TAFE Delivered VET Courses. The school has a long history of successful involvement in sporting and cultural activities and is enthusiastically supported by its feeder primary schools.
