Dubbo South Public School is a large primary school in the Western School Education Area. The school vision is Excellence through quality teaching and parental involvement in a caring environment. The school has excellent facilities, which include well maintained classrooms, a hall, 3 undercover play areas, large play equipment and Outdoor Learning Garden Area. The school has a very proactive P&C which supports the school in many ways and operates a fulltime healthy canteen. Dubbo South has an excellent reputation, based on a vibrant learning environment and an enthusiastic, committed and caring staff who provide a wide choice of academic, social, cultural and sporting activities for approximately 680 students. Special features of our school include the operation of Inquiry Based learning classes across the school, a fully integrated Stemshare learning space where lessons include robotics and coding; the use of interactive smartboards across all classes. The school has a Special Education unit with 4 classes to provide specialist support for students with more complex needs. We are proud of our Aboriginal cultural programs as well as support for our students from a non-English speaking background. Our students are involved in many competitions and participate at many events and competitive levels - sporting, creative arts and academic. We are a Positive Behaviour for Learning school were school expectations of Respect, Care, Responsibility and Cooperation are taught and practised across our school community.
