As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild public education, the 2024-25 Budget is delivering record education funding, including $3.6 billion for new and upgraded schools in Western Sydney. This targeted investment will ensure growing communities get access to a world class public education.
A project is underway to deliver the new Melonba High School, located in the new suburb of Melonba, is underway to cater for future enrolment demand in the area.

The new permanent Melonba High School welcomed Years 7 - 9 students on Thursday, 6 February 2024.
Modern classrooms
Our school features modern, flexible classrooms. These provide a variety of opportunities to enhance student collaboration, communication and engagement.
The classrooms:
are adaptable to different teaching methods and can accommodate up to 4 class groups in each space
feature inclusive learning zones with break-out spaces, enabling students to learn in new ways and with new technologies
provide opportunities to enhance skills in collaboration, communication, critical thinking, problem solving and creativity
can be closed into individual classrooms.

When will the construction of the school be complete?
We are excited to deliver the majority of the school facilities for use, with minor works remaining to be completed by Term 2 2025.
Are there pick-up and drop-off bays available?
Yes, pick-up and drop-off bays are located on Kaluta Avenue near the school entrance, with additional bays available on Elara Boulevard.
For ease of parking, a traffic management team will monitor parking before and during school drop-off and pickup times to assist parents in effectively using the kiss-and-drop bays.
Is there a bus service to the school?
Public bus routes are available for students. The nearest public bus stops are located on Elara Boulevard (748) and Kaluta Avenue (747 and 751). In addition, one morning chartered bus service departs at 7:50 am from corner of Sundew Parade and Elara Blvd, with 2 after-school services at 2:40 pm and 3:00 pm from the Kaluta Avenue bus stop. How can your child/children apply for a School Opal Card or a school term bus pass?
School Opal cards enable free school travel and can be used as a School Term Bus Pass for travel within the Opal network. To find out if your child/children are eligible, visit transportnsw.info/school-travel-apply.

Construction work is officially underway on the new Melonba Public School and Melonba High School.

Enrolment for Year 7 and Year 8 students from Day 1, Term 1 2024 at the temporary Melonba High School is now open. Online enrolments can be accessed here.

We will be hosting drop-in information sessions on the plaza at Elara Village Shopping Centre. These information sessions provide an opportunity for the community to ask the project team questions about Marsden Park new high school. We encourage anyone attending to make this a COVID-safe event.
