FNESI pathways

The FNESI team is committed to strengthening Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in the workforce.

Working closely with our network of businesses, contractors, schools and young people, FNESI helps build culturally safe connections that support apprenticeships, traineeships, work experience and school-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SBATs), to offer early career pathways into trades and construction.

These pathways also provide valuable connections for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contractors who may be looking for apprentices, trainees and workers for their growing businesses.

Why get involved

Participating in FNESI pathways gives Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and contractors the opportunity to help young people enter the workforce, build stronger connections with schools and communities, and contribute to developing a deadly pipeline of skilled workers. It is also a valuable and practical way for our students to gain skills, training and potential employment opportunities.

How students can connect with us

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students are invited to register their interest in exploring work experience or a career pathway in trades and the construction industry.

Opportunities may include:

  • on site work experience placements
  • career exposure opportunities
  • apprenticeships and traineeships
  • school-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SBATs).
