NSW School of Languages

NSW School of Languages specialises in languages education providing individualised distance learning programs to students enrolled in government and non-government secondary schools or TAFE College. Students are eligible to enrol as a single course student to study a language that is not available to them in their home school or TAFE College. Courses offered are at Stage 5 (years 9 and 10) and Stage 6 (years 11 and 12) levels only. NSW School of Languages offers twelve modern languages (Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Modern Greek, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish) and one classical language (Latin). Accelerated progression programs are also offered and students are able to study more than one language. Students in rural areas who wish to study Stage 6 English as a Second Language (ESL) can also enrol. Student learning is supported through a blended program of online courses, audio and video resources as well as telephone lessons, video conferencing, online collaboration events, and face to face study days at NSW School of Languages.
