We are fortunate to enjoy high quality buildings and facilities in a beautiful bush and beach setting. We are the only school in Australia which is designed in the shape of a nautilus shell.     The school enjoys state of the art information and communication technology integrated into classroom environments and special purpose facilities for performing arts and sport. Wireless internet access is available across the whole site. We produce well-educated citizens with the capability and confidence to succeed and thrive in the twenty-first century.    Byron Bay High has experienced teachers who have delivered consistently outstanding results for our students over many years. Byron Bay High School is consistently one of the top performing schools in the North Coast Region based on HSC results. In 2014 four of our students received ATAR's above 99 which is quite incredible. We are committed to delivering quality education to develop the individual talents, interests and abilities of the students and citizens who form our learning community. The school prides itself on developing outstanding citizens who have a strong sense of empowerment and who add value to society.    Byron Bay has the highest percentage of creative people per capita in Australia. Our creative and performing arts program reflects this creative diversity and richness. Drama, Music, Art, Dance, Photography, Creative Writing and Film making are subject areas in which our students excel. We also run an accelerated mathematics program for gifted and talented mathematics students.     We have learning partnerships with local schools in the "Lighthouse Valley" Learning Community.  We enjoy very close relationships with our feeder schools Byron Bay, Bangalow, Goonengerry, Coorabell and Newrybar Public Schools. Senior students receive individual tutoring with our "Gaining the Edge" program. Vocational Education courses in Hospitality, Construction, Entertainment and Beauty Therapy are conducted at school.     The school is renowned for and extremely proud of its strong community support.
