Walgett Community College - High School

Walgett High School has a current enrolment of 106 students including 97% Aboriginal students. The school is supported by PSP and CAP funding. The school endeavours to work with our community to consolidate a sustainable approach to learning in a way that guarantees success into the future. The school plan is grounded on the belief that in order to ensure effective learning then the focus must be on the development of the whole child. We believe there is a strong relationship between the academic (including a focus on literacy and numeracy), physical, mental and socio-cultural needs of students, and that they are of equal importance and crucial to ensuring successful educational outcomes. The school has developed a strong Pathways to Employment Plan and offers a range of VET courses on conjunction with NSW TAFE. Culture and Language are important elements of our program strongly supported by the community.
