Barham High School

Barham High is a small school with an enviable staff to student ratio of one to ten. Small classes allow for more individual attention and greater student access to a wide range of resources. Student welfare is our highest priority and many aspects of the school curriculum are designed to overcome the relative geographical isolation experienced by our students. The school is well resourced with additional funding sources like the Country Areas Program assisting us with specialist programs to improve student outcomes. The school enjoys a positive relationship with the community. Many aspects of the school's success stem from the high level of community involvement with the school, but it is important that we continue to work with our community to consolidate a sustainable approach to learning in a way that guarantees success into the future. To ensure effective learning then the focus must be on the development of the whole child. We believe there is a strong relationship between the academic (including a focus on literacy and numeracy), physical, mental and socio-cultural needs of students, and that they are of equal importance and crucial to ensuring successful educational outcomes.
