Kirrawee High is a dynamic school community in which students, staff and parents unfailingly work together to fulfil the promise of its young women and men. Kirrawee High School enjoys an enviable record of academic achievement from the classroom through to the HSC and the virtual world. Passionate teachers build trusting relationships that support a love of learning and prepare students for the exciting challenges of university, TAFE and a wide range of vocations. The school also has a record of distinction in student leadership, social justice, debating, mock trial and public speaking. Kirrawee High is also a nationally recognised lighthouse school for languages. The authentic rigour brought to learning is augmented by exchange visits with Komae High School in Japan and College St Michelle in Reunion Island, relationships that have been fostered for over 25 years. Kirrawee has long been recognised for the artistry of its drama, dance and music programs. For over thirty years this creativity has coalesced in the highly vaunted tradition of musical productions: the colour, spectacle and sheer challenge of shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables and most recent success, Aida. The large instrumental music program also enjoys an international recognition with multiple ensemble tours to Cuba, China and South Africa. These rich experiences connect students' learning to the classroom and have a profound influence on their' lives well beyond the years at school. Sporting achievement is yet another area that has always enjoyed conspicuous success at this school. Water Polo teams have recorded numerous state titles and there have been many other CHS and individual successes in sports such as swimming, athletics, cricket (Davidson Shield) and hockey. The many state and national and even Olympic champions reflect on a school that encourages and recognises elite performance ;  young people striving to be their best. There may be no better testimony to the power of public education at this school than the esteemed alumni that have made such significant contributions to our nation. Authors, Supreme Court Justices, professors, doctors, educators, CEOs, engineers, Olympians, composers and actors are just some of the fields in which the legacy of a Kirrawee High School education remains as the foundation of lifelong skills.
