Wingham High School

Since its establishment in 1962, Wingham High School has gained a reputation for students achieving at the highest levels in all areas of academic, sporting, cultural and technological pursuits. That achievement is consistently recognised through the Endeavour Scheme and formal excellence assemblies and is supported by effective well-being programs, a Students' Representative Council, P and C and School Council. The school community endorses a set of core values which aim to enhance quality relationships and those core values now underpin much of the school's operation. These are: RESPECT, TRUST, FAIRNESS & POSITIVITY. The school has excellent facilities and programs for students with additional learning needs, a large multipurpose centre, three tennis courts, two sporting ovals and a farm enterprise concentrating on beef cattle production which enables student participation in cattle judging and showing. Other state of the art facilties include a commercial standard hospitality kitchen and industry-standard Construction workshop as well as a Language centre.. Flexible approaches to planning and  timetabling allow senior students to access the full range of traditional courses as well as TAFE, vocational education and school-based apprenticeships and traineeships.
