Matraville Sports High School
Matraville Sports High School serves the local community as a co-educational specialist high school with high quality sports programs. The school community has a strong focus on the collaboratively developed values of quality teaching, academic excellence and respect, and has active and informed parent and community involvement in all areas of the school. Matraville Sports High school is a dynamic and caring learning community (including support unit) and we are proud of our inclusive, harmonious learning environment which welcomes students of all abilities. Students experience a broad curriculum including a range of gifted and talented programs and allows students with exceptional talent in sport to balance their academic studies with their rigorous training requirements. A unique feature of the school is a compressed HSC delivery model where both the Preliminary and HSC components (including the HSC exam) are completed in one calendar year rather than two. The school has strong links with its partner primary schools providing programs such as Year 4 Enrichment activities, Year 6 Transition program, Year 4/5 Language program, peer reading, and sports coaching. The school is located in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and is a National Partnerships school. Matraville Sports high school has a diverse population of students and provides programs for specific cultural groups such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Pacific Islander students. The school has a long history of sporting success across a range of team and individual sports.
