Along with regular academic and sporting success including representation at state and national competitions, recent years have seen outstanding individual and group achievements in Public Speaking and Debating. The school has an active SRC, representing the student body in all facets of school organisation and community work. Corrimal High School has strong links with its local community and enjoys the support of an active and effective Parents and Citizens' Association (P&C). There is a particular emphasis on the ongoing enhancement of links with our primary Community of Schools. The school also has strong links with the Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG), Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME), Corrimal Rotary, University of Wollongong, Illawarra TAFE colleges and Bellambi Neighbourhood Centre. Over thirty independent workplace sites enable the school to offer a diverse range of workplace experiences. Another feature of the school is our Motivation Class Program. Since its inception, the Motivation Classes have become highly sought after and are a huge drawcard for our feeder primary schools. It is a significant factor that parents/caregivers take into account when selecting Corrimal High School. Its purpose is to challenge, motivate, excite and extend our students. The school sets clear learning goals each year and closely analyses student data from internal assessment sources as well externally set examinations such as NAPLAN and Higher School Certificate examinations. Results are used to inform teaching/learning and support programs. Individual learning plans for students, innovative teaching and an idealised school are our focus for 2015.
