Liverpool Girls High School

The philosophy firmly embedded at Liverpool Girls High School is that of a school community committed to achieving set goals, working together, continually searching for improvement and encouraging new ideas. The school has a strong tradition with its community of careful planning to ensure each individual girl is placed in the best possible learning environment. The school reflects a large multicultural setting of over 1000 students and offers a range of curriculum options that have been structured to meet student needs. There is an ongoing focus on welfare programs, support for minority groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, community involvement, analysis of data that translates to individual improvement in student learning particularly related to literacy and numeracy, leadership, volunteer and gifted and talented programs, exhibitions, school to work planning, vocational education and information communication technology (ICT). Our diverse and successful range of programs in 2009 has been recognised through the Director Generals' Award for Creative Connectedness through Textual Literacy, Regional awards for Aboriginal and ESL Education and the Mil-pra Award.
