Manilla Central School
Manilla Central School places the highest priorities on student welfare and individual achievement. The school has a strong tradition of providing a quality educational experience to all students from a diverse rural community. The school is committed to providing a safe learning environment which promotes respect for others, tolerance and cooperation. Visitors to the school comment firstly on the warm welcome they receive from friendly students when they enter the grounds, and secondly, on how calmly the students and staff go about their daily business. As a K to 12 school, Manilla offers students the opportunity to complete all their school education in their local community and guarantees choice from an expansive and inclusive secondary curriculum. Our school goal is to prepare students for the future. We strive to be leaders in the application of new technologies and traditional academic areas of study, and provide a wide range of vocational courses in order to ensure that students are given the best opportunities to reach their potential. The school has strong support from, and close ties with, the local community. The school, individual students and individual staff members are regular recipients/winners of awards which recognise excellence in a diverse range of fields including academic achievement, excellence in teaching practice, band, sport and the Tamworth Eisteddfod for example. Manilla Central School is a leader in the promotion and recognition of the importance of School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships, with increasing numbers of students participating in this program, many of whom maintain a rigorous academic program.
