Karonga School
Karonga School provides a stimulating educational environment which promotes and encourages maximum learning and participation for every student. The students enrolled represent a diverse and complex population having signficant learning needs with many requiring health care procedures. A broad range of curriculum options, behaviour management and instructional strategies is required to ensure maximum engagement of all students and achievements of learning outcomes. All students have personalised learning plans which are collaboratively devised by parents, carers and staff to ensure development occurs with maximum student participation and minimal assistance. Many of the educational programs are conducted within the local community. Students enrol from preschool age to eighteen years plus. The school is situated on eight acres in Epping with a focus on sustainable living whereby all students are involved in growing and eating vegetables and herbs from the school gardens. The school has a supportive parent association and strong community involvement.The Regional tutorial cente is located at Karonga School.
