Karonga School completed project

This award winning project provided the school community with refurbished classrooms, and a new home base block, offering opportunities for improved student learning outcomes.

The first stage of the project included the refurbishment of a number of classrooms in the existing Blocks A, E and F at Karonga School. The second stage comprised of a new single-story home base block and associated bus and car park.

One noteworthy feature of the building structure was the efficient incorporation of environmentally sustainable timber frames and trusses to minimise the amount of structural steel used.

Project Coordination, who designed and delivered the upgrade, were awarded the 2013 Master Builders Association (MBA) South East Region Award for Best Commercial Project $1m-$3m for their work on Stage 1, Block R.
