There is a strong emphasis on building teacher capacity to improve student outcomes in literacy and numeracy. The school is an Early Action for Success school, with an Instructional Leader who works with all staff to ensure consistent professional reflection on practice to improve student learning outcomes. A dedicated approach to quality teaching and differentiated teaching and learning is a priority at Braddock Public School and this is supported by a highly effective Learning Support Team. In addition, students at Braddock Public School are equipped with skills to become successful, life long learners. A Braddock Early Learning Literacy (BELL) program runs at the school two days per week. The BELL program is a school readiness program aimed at 4 year olds and has been an outstanding success in preparing children for their first year of school at Braddock. This program has expanded to encompass more children, with the capacity for 20 children on a Tuesday and an additional 20 children on a Thursday. The school also includes a support unit consisting of one IM and one ED class. A comprehensive range of student well-being programs is underpinned by the Positive Behaviour for Learning Framework. Students are explicitly taught the behaviour expectations related to our school values of being Safe, Respectful, Responsible Learners. There is a strong focus on the creative arts, with specific art and music programs run by specialist staff for all students, kindergarten to year 6. The school is an active part of the Cranebrook Learning Community, with effective links with the local high school. A strong emphasis on building and maintaining positive community partnerships, with both the parent community and local community agencies, is highly valued. Braddock Public School has extensive links with Nepean Community Neighbourhood Service and works in partnership with all local community organisations.
