John Warby Public School

John Warby Public School is situated in the Campbelltown School Education Area of the South Western Sydney Region. There are 243 students enrolled from Pre-school to Year 6. Classes include Pre-school, mainstream and classes for students with intellectual disabilities and autism. There is a strong emphasis on Aboriginal Education at John Warby Public School with many strategies being embedded across all areas of school life. John Warby Public School has students who come from a variety of cultural and language backgrounds including 24% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 22% Pacific Islander. NSW Housing is planning that the Airds Housing precinct in which John Warby Public School is located will, over time, become 70% private housing and 30% public housing. There is a wonderful sense of school spirit within the community and parents are incredibly supportive of the current direction of the school. The school prides itself on supporting students through quality teaching programs, student welfare initiatives, cultural, sporting and arts programs and special education programs. Our school is a Positive Behaviour for Learning School and our three core school expectations that students are safe, respectful and learners. John Warby Public School encourages an inter-agency approach and there is a large focus on strategies to improve Literacy and Numeracy, Leadership and Management, Curriculum and Assessment, Aboriginal Education and Engagement and Connections. The school has strong links with the Airds/Bradbury Community of Schools including Briar Road Public School, Bradbury Public School, Woodland Road Public School and Airds High School.
