Mannering Park Public School

Mannering Park Public School was established in 1961 and is situated at the northern end of the Central Coast. The school is on Darkinjung and Awabakal traditional land and serves a small township located on an isolated peninsular on the southern shores of Australia's largest and most picturesque salt water lake, Lake Macquarie.  Mannering Park Public School has 210 students enrolled from K–6 and has a dedicated staff who ensure every student is known, valued and cared for. Mannering Park Public School currently has 11 mainstream classes and 2 support classes. The school executive ensure flexible school funds accommodate smaller class sizes to support differentiated and tailored learning experiences for every student. Our school receives School Based Allocation Resources (SBAR) funding for Aboriginal Education, socio–economic backgrounds, integration and low-level adjustment for disability and support, initiative funding for beginning teachers and Early Action for Success. The school Aboriginal student population is 20% and has strong links with the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG). A permanent Aboriginal SLSO is appointed to the school to enhance the culture and connectedness of the school community. Mannering Park Public School fosters improvement in teaching and learning through stage-based Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) which are led by Assistant Principals and the Assistant Principal Curriculum & Instruction. There is a relentless focus on student growth in Literacy, numeracy, differentiated programming, assessment and wellbeing. Since 2020, staff have been engaged in high-quality teaching and learning practices. This includes Restorative Practices, Quality Teaching Rounds, Explicit Teaching, Formative Assessment and the new NSW Syllabus. Staff at Mannering Park Public School have a history of supporting environmental education, public speaking, breakfast club, debating, Lego League, social skills programs and various sporting and cultural events. The school's Learning and Support Team proactively supports students and families through robust, individual learning plans that reaches over 45% of students. The P&C are actively involved in the school and run the uniform shop and canteen. The P&C also drives local fundraising events which assists the school in obtaining high-quality, 21st century teaching and learning resources.
