Blacksmiths Public School
Blacksmiths Public School provides a nurturing environment where children are supported and challenged as they grow, learn and achieve. Our community takes pride in the academic, cultural and sporting achievements of our students. Our focus is on providing a stimulating environment which supports the development of every child as an individual. Our school environment allows us to create programs and practices which cater for student needs, not only academically, but also in cultural, sporting and social areas. Teachers continually assess and monitor student progress, promoting optimum achievement for each child. We encourage the involvement of parents and community in every aspect of school life, as we work towards developing genuine and productive partnerships with our families. The school currently implements learning programs that reflect best practise such as, Focus on Reading, L3 and PLAT (Powerful Learning Acountable Teaching). We are well resourced in the area of technology with all students accessing wifi thoughout the school, on either laptops or tablets. Our aim is to provide every child with the skills, knowledge, experiences and confidence to become active and effective citizens and to reach their full potential. Our programs cater for individual needs, promoting critical thinking, creativity and problem solving across all the KLA's. Our motto, "Together We Succeed", underpins the Blacksmiths PS attitude to learning, playing and living!
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
