North Haven Public School's mission statement is to: Prepare today's children for tomorrow's world. Our school will deliver opportunities for every student to become a successful learner and a caring, confident, creative individual. Tolerance and understanding of others is aligned to personal responsibility for learning and behaviour. The school's values are aligned to the 'Nine Values for Australian Schooling' which form the underlying basis for student development. The school has created a quality learning environment that nurtures students in a safe and caring manner. This environment addresses the significance of learning and intellectual quality. The school offers quality teaching and learning in all key learning areas with a focus on literacy and numeracy. Technology is integrated into effective and innovative classroom practice. A robotics and coding program has been implemented for all stages. Teaching and learning programs provide rich opportunities for students to develop and hone skills, knowledge and understanding of 21st Century capabilities such as collaboration, critical thinking, communication, community and creatvity. An experienced, skilled and highly committed staff provide quality educational programs that cater for the needs of all students. The work ethic and personal pride displayed by all staff members is instrumental in supporting the high level of student achievement. The school has a history of academic success as indicated in national, state and school-based assessment procedures. Student growth and development is constant and appropriate, relative to national standards. A variety of support programs are employed to meet the needs of all students. These include reading support programs for stage 1 and stage 2 and two community based tutor programs (for learning support and enrichment). The school is highly effective in integrating students with special needs into all aspects of school life. Experienced learning support officers are an integral part of our success in meeting all student needs. The school's performing arts program has been recognised for its high level of achievement through the Director General's Award of Excellence. Students receive invaluable learning opportunities through the band program, choir, dance groups, recorder and guitar groups. A wide variety of sporting opportunities are offered and significant success is continually achieved, with particular emphasis on athletics. The community provides vital support for all areas of school life. The school has a reputation for providing strong all-round educational opportunities for all students.
