Bankstown West Public School takes pride in our engaged students, quality teachers, harmonious community and spacious grounds. The learning and wellbeing of our students is our prime concern. We provide quality teaching across all key learning areas and engage in rigorous programs to support literacy and numeracy. Our technology, creative arts, and sport programs are a particular strength of the school. Our strong transition programs ensure a smooth introduction to school life. We also offer community language classes in Vietnamese and Arabic, a school readiness program for pre-schoolers, and before and after school care. At Bankstown West Public School the individual needs of all children are addressed and additional support is provided by English as an Additional Language (EAL/D) teachers, Learning and Support teachers, and enrichment programs for talented students in English, maths, creative arts, ICT and sport. Our teachers engage in regular professional development to ensure their skills, knowledge and understanding are world class. In this way we focus on delivering the highest standard of education to our students who represent over 30 different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories.
