Miranda North Public School

Miranda North Public School is situated on large, grassy grounds serving the residents of the area north of The Kingsway and between Port Hacking Rd (west) and Taren Point Rd to the east. Our mission statement is 'To provide Quality Education through Quality Teaching in a Caring Environment, for All' and this is achieved through strong partnerships with community and a genuine concern for the welfare of all at the school. The core values of the school are: Friendliness, Caring, Respect, Responsibility and Endeavour. The school is highly regarded for strong and fair discipline as well as outstanding programs in literacy, physical education and creative and performing arts. In recent years we have been developing programs and initiatives in the areas of Education for Sustainability and the use of technology in teaching and learning. The school has a modern and efficient technology centre and all learning spaces are networked to provide internet access. Many programs at the school have been greatly enhanced by the construction of a new school hall through the Building the Education Revolution program. The school manages significant amounts of funding for the Sydney Regional Office located in Miranda. These funds are used to provide programs in many schools in the Sydney region. The school's 270 students are predominantly from the local area. The community is proud and protective of the school which has been the case since it opened in 1957.
