New Lambton South Public School delivers a high quality education while providing diverse opportunuties for students to be involved in a wide range of educational experiences. We have a strong focus on 21st Century Learning.  The school has a strong commitment as a community to support students strive to achieve their potential. We provide an engaging, stimulating environment in which students are encouraged academically, culturally, socially and physically. We do this in partnership with parents and the wider community. We have excellent staff and a great P&C. We provide learning experiences and programs which cater for the interests and abilities of all students. Through quality teaching and learning experiences, we provide the foundation for students to succeed and to grow in confidence. At our school you will see integrated Aboriginal perspectives and environmental education embedded in everyday learning. We value striving for personal best, responsibility for learning, respect for self and others, and fostering positive relationships. We welcome all students and provide support for individual differences or disabilities. We have a wonderful mix of cultures at our school and this diversity adds strength to us as a school. At New Lambton South we have a focus on ensuring healthy and active children through a healthy canteen and daily fruit and fitness programs. We have a well developed student welfare and discipline policy and programs including Positive Behaviour for Learning, ensure safe and happy students. We develop leadership from Kindergarten and have a strong Student Representative Council (SRC). At New Lambton South we have a strong focus on the arts. We have an excellent band and private music tuition is available. We also have a great choir. We have a dedicated visual arts teacher ensuring high quality visual arts. We enjoy performance in our huge new school hall. Our public speakers, chess groups and debaters win at Regional levels. Our students perform well at sport and have competed at Regional, State and National levels in swimming, hockey, soccer, aerobics, cricket, netball and basketball. Our spacious, grassy playground is surrounded by trees and provides an opportunity for children to play, make friends and have fun. We have separate play areas for Infant and Senior students. Our school has strengths in Gifted and Talented (GATS) education and hosts a Regional Opportunity Class (Selective GATS ) for Years 5&6. Entry to this class is highly competitive. Many students from our school win placement at selective high schools and distinctions and high distinctions in academic competitions
