Walgett Community College - Primary School

Walgett Primary School has an enrolment of approximately 110 students including 108 Aboriginal students. The school is supported by PSP and CAP funding and works with our community to consolidate a sustainable approach to learning in a way that guarantees success into the future. The school plan is grounded on the belief that in order to ensure effective learning then the focus must be on the development of the whole child. We believe there is a strong relationship between the academic (including a focus on literacy and numeracy), physical, mental and socio-cultural needs of students, and that they are of equal importance and crucial to ensuring successful educational outcomes. The Quality Teaching Framework binds learning across the school and ensures that we are comprehensive in our ability to meet the needs of all students, inclusive of ATSI and the broad range of cultural understandings. Personalising learning including the setting of targets is supported by constant feedback, assessment for learning, reporting to parents through student reports, bulletins and the ASR
