The Walgett Community College Primary School hall and supply shed and the Biraleegal Goondi Preschool were damaged by fire in mid 2023. A project is underway to build a new school hall and preschool building.
The school is temporarily using some of the Bourke-Walgett School of Distance Education facilities. 2 demountables are being used by the Bourke-Walgett School of Distance Education.
