Carramar Public School
Carramar Public School serves a culturally diverse community and is part of the (EAfS) early action for success program. Since its establishment in 1924, students have come from a mixture of public and private housing developments. The school achieves its mission by sharing a commitment with the community to provide a safe, stimulating and accepting environment which promotes active participation and empowerment of all members through learning. The school motto 'Learning To Live' reflects the ethos of our school. Carramar Public School teachers enjoy working with students from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, with 87% of the students from non-English-speaking backgrounds. The school has a committed and enthusiastic staff, with a mixture of experienced and early career teachers. Our school implements programs that focus on quality literacy and numeracy with a strong emphasis on integrating technology. The school has extensive playground areas and numerous established trees. This makes for a wonderful learning and recreational environment.The school receives equity funding to support students from low socio-economic backgrounds and students from Aboriginal backgrounds. Excellent student welfare programs operate with a focus on student leadership. The school offers a wide range of creative extracurricular activities, catering for students' diverse needs. The school has an active parent group, a community liaision officer and numerous significant programs with strong links to the community and partner primary schools.
