Strathfield South Public School

Strathfield South Public School is a large school located in Sydney's South West with students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The school is dynamic and innovative, with a strong focus on providing quality education for all students in a positive, safe and respectful environment, reflected in the school motto "Think of Others." Strathfield South PS has a highly dedicated staff who consistently focus on providing quality educational programs. The school implements a number of focus programs including Language, Learning and Literacy (L3) and Focus on Reading (FoR). A culture of ongoing improvement and an explicit focus on quality professional learning in differentiation, data informed planning, enrichment and technology drive best practice. Excellence is promoted across all areas of the curriculum and an emphasis is placed on providing a broad range of learning opportunities to meet the needs of all students. Extra-curricular activities include inter-school sport competitions, a K-2 strings program, three school bands, ukulele group, public speaking, debating, chess and three choirs. The school enjoys a strong partnership with our very committed Parents and Citizens associaltion. They support educational programs through money raised and provide a productive avenue for whole school community input into school policy and decision making.
