Putney Public School

Putney Public School aims to inspire students to acquire knowledge and realise their self-worth in a supportive, caring environment and to provide opportunities for all students to experience success and achieve their full potential. The school encourages a love of learning, provides students with a curriculum which is relevant and responsive to their needs, ensures that learning programs enhance our students' welfare, self confidence and self esteem and enhances a school climate which promotes ambition, achievement and personal excellence. Results throughout the year have consistently confirmed the high levels of achievement and the success of the learning programs across the school. With a school population of approximately 450 students, the school is able to offer a wide selection of curricula and extra-curricular activites and programs across academic, sporting and creative arts arenas. These include intra and inter school debating and public speaking competitions, chess and computer competitions/clubs, band, choir, drama and dance programs as well as a comprehensive school sport/PSSA program. Student academic achievement is supported by a dedicated executive team who lead an equally dedicated teaching staff and coordinate regular professional learning opportunities based on school and DEC priorities. The school enjoys community support through a proactive P&C Association, class parents program and reading and tutoring programs coordinated by the Learning and Support Team. Students enrolled at Putney Public School exhibit pride in their school. The three school values of respect for self respect for others, and resposibility for your actions are upheld throughout the school.
