Middle Harbour Public School is an innovative school is located in Mosman on the lower North Shore of Sydney with over 620 students. The school works in partnership with parents and the broader school community to provide quality education that encourages students to strive for their personal and academic best. Our school is renowned for its high student achievement, dedicated teaching staff and caring school community. Student learning is enhanced by a rich and diverse curriculum. Our focus is on building strong foundations in key disciplinary areas along with the general capabilities, skills and dispositions that contribute to success in school, in the workplace and in life. The school also provides specialist programs in creative arts, physical education, gymnastics and Mandarin. There is a wide range of extra curricula activities including training, junior and senior bands, a string ensembles, choir, dance, public speaking, debating and chess. Students have opportunities to participate in a wide range of sporting programs including tennis, swimming and surf school for senior students. The school has been involved in the "Jump Rope" initiative for many years and students are encouraged to be physically active and healthy. Our school is committed to the PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) and YCDI (You Can Do It) program. The PBL program involves the explicit teaching of positive behaviours across the school K-6 and aligns with our shared values of Respect, Responsibility, and Personal Best. The YCDI program provides a common language and framework for addressing the social and emotional needs of students by developing important life skills such as organisation, persistence, resilience, getting along with others and confidence. Established in 1916 our community is proud of its history and traditions. We are also a future focussed school working together to create dynamic and flexible learning environments that support student learning. Technology is used to support teaching and learning. All classrooms, including the library and specialist programs rooms, are air-conditioned and have internet and wireless access along with other teaching and learning tools including interactive whiteboards, laptops and IPads. Parents take an active interest in their child's education and the school.
