Mayfield West Public School
Mayfield West Demonstration School is a proud public school. It is situated in Newcastle, a large metropolitan city in NSW. The suburb is undergoing a transformation since the closure of heavy industry in the area. The school population comes from diverse backgrounds which provides a richness of experience across the school. Mayfield West caters for students from pre-school to year 6 and offers a balance between academic excellence and creativity. The school's vision for all students is 'Learning for Life'. The school ensures an environment where personal well-being and individual care are given to children of all ages. Students are involved in a variety of activities, including an extensive Creative Arts Program and Sports Program. Enrichment opportunities are provided to extend students in a diverse range of disciplines. A comprehensive range of technology equipment is integrated to enhance all learning across the curriculum. Mayfield West Demonstration School has established strong links with The University of Newcastle to support and implement programs for pre-service teachers.
