Malabar Public School
Malabar Public School is situated on a coastal peninsula; we enjoy a variety of large natural open spaces surrounded by trees. The school is conveniently located opposite Pioneers Park and Cromwell Park and is a short walk to Malabar Beach. Our students frequently make use of these facilities. Malabar Public School celebrates over 100 years of quality public education. Solid cultural foundations are enjoyed due to a rich history of community Involvement. A strong nurturing atmosphere permeates throughout the school with active committed participation by teachers, students, parents and the wider community. Our vision for the 21st Century is to maximise the potential of all students through the development of challenging, enjoyable teaching and learning programs that are supported by current best practice and progressive technology. We aim to provide a curriculum that develops each child's academic, social, physical and emotional skills. English and mathematics are target areas for continuous success and improvement. They are accompanied by significant key learning areas including; history, geography, science and technology, personal development, health, physical education and creative arts. Academic excellence is achieved in the University of NSW Competitions, chess, public speaking and debating. A rich and dynamic performing arts program is a highlight of the school, demonstrated through Dancesport, Showcase dance, choir and band performances. Sporting talents are developed through school sporting programs such as gymnastics, representation in PSSA teams such as netball and football, state and national teams. We are very proud of our school and the daily achievements attained by our students. This is recognised through positive encouragement and support. We warmly encourage current and prospective families to come into our school to celebrate student successes and to showcase learning.
