Gulmarrad Public School
Gulmarrad Primary School serves a diverse community, from a small coastal village, rural small and large acreage, rural residential and town residential. The school is the focal point for the area. The motto of our school is 'Look to the Future', which indicates our core purpose of developing in students the skills, values and desires to succeed which will see them progress to the next stage of their education well prepared.The school believes that students should be proud of their school and what they are achieving. Through this belief comes dedication, a sense of purpose, commitment and an understanding of the importance of education and supporting each other. There are high expectations for academic, cultural and social achievements. Quality teaching from experienced and innovative staff supports all students to achieve these expectations at their appropriate levels of learning. The school receives strong community support in all its endeavours, with parents and wider community members being involved in the school.The community supports the school's plans to improve the learning opportunities for our children. The school provides a comprehensive curriculum covering all Key Learning Areas as set by the NSW Education Standards Authority. The students are encouraged to give their best in all they do; this results in individual children achieving at the highest levels in academic areas, the sporting field and the performing arts. We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
