Dunedoo Central School
Dunedoo Central School provides a quality education from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school is pleasantly positioned on the side of a hill and commands wide sweeping views over the valley of the Talbragar River. The town itself takes its name from the Aboriginal word for Black Swan and it is nestled in a rich agriculture area of central west NSW. Agricultural pursuits are many and varied with cereal cropping, beef and sheep production being prominent. Known as the gateway to the plains of the North and West, Dunedoo has all essential amenities including a well regarded school and is buoyed by its prominent position on the Golden Highway. With a school population of about 240, the school boasts a staff that can offer a full and varied curriculum and is unique in that it shares its site with the Western Institute of TAFE. As a Central School, there is a strong emphasis placed on a sense of family, regular whole-school activities and a wide variety of extra-curricular and cultural events. Children at this school are nurtured in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere where all students are provided with opportunities to develop positive knowledge, skills and values.
