Clovelly Public School
Clovelly Public School has a well-established profile within the community as a school that offers its students a wide range of learning opportunities across a broad spectrum of key learning areas. Professional learning is undertaken by staff on a regular basis with particular focus in the areas of Literacy, Numeracy and practices to promote positive behaviour. Clovelly's family atmosphere is what makes it unique. Staff, students and families work together to support one another to provide quality education, encourage life-long learning and build positive relationships in a friendly caring and inclusive environment. There is a high level of parent and community participation in the school with a large band of volunteers whose willing assistance greatly enhances the opportunities available to the students. Our school focuses on the core values of respect, responsibility and learning. We nurture our students to become successful learners, active and informed citizens, and confident, creative individuals. As well as a strong focus on academic performance and leadership, many opportunities are provided for students to participate and excel in a wide range of sports, creative arts, debating, languages, public speaking and music, in particular the highly successful band program. Students also participate in a range of fitness and fundamental movement skill development programs and a dance sport fitness program. Student learning in all classrooms is enhanced through regular use of technologies that include interactive whiteboards, IPADs and a fully equipped computer room and library.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
