Broken Hill North Public School welcomes all children. We believe all children can be successful learners and achieve individual goals and aspirations. Broken Hill North Public School is situated in the isolated Far West of NSW. Our school has been on the Priority Schools Program for LSES families for over 30 years and in 2009 was placed on the Priority Action Schools Program for LSES communities. The school has an enrolment of 270 wonderful students including 5 Special Education Classes (Years K-6 Moderate Intellectual Disability Class, Years 3-6 Mild Intellectual Disability Class, Early Intervention and 2 Multicategorical Classes). Our Aboriginal student population is approximately 30% of the total student enrolment. Broken Hill North Public School has a unique, diverse and proud community. Aboriginal cultural understanding, tolerance and inclusion of all children are high priorities as our school motto states: 'Learning for all at North'. The Broken Hill North School community is committed to providing all students with a broad education where students achieve their potential by following the five school expectations 'Be Safe', 'Do Your Best', 'Be Respectful', 'Be Responsible' and knowing 'School is for Learning'. Broken Hill North prides itself on the broad range of programs it offers students to ensure that the individual needs of each student are met. The school achieves its mission by providing a wide range of teaching/learning programs. From learning support and integration of special-need students, to enrichment programs, dance groups, PSSA Sport, Breakfast Program and Transition Programs, students at North are able to fulfil their individual academic, creative and sporting potential.
