The school community is committed to providing an environment that promotes personal growth and excellence by developing confidence and self esteem. A broad range of extra-curricular activities enrich the learning experiences of our students. 88% of our students have a language background other than English and 38 different language groups are represented in our school. The school’s focus is to provide high quality challenging and engaging programs to improve the learning outcomes of our students. Additional student support is provided through programs such as Reading Recovery, Learning and Support, and English as a Second Language. Arabic is offered as a Community Language. We have a Special Education Unit in the school that provides an inclusive, stimulating learning environment for students with multiple and moderate intellectual disabilities. The school has an extended transition to school program which aims to develop children's foundation skills in readiness for their first year of school. A community playgroup operates 1 day per week to enhance children's development and social skills as well as develop effective community relationships. There is a strong focus on teacher professional learning to continuously improve student literacy and numeracy outcomes. Classrooms are equipped with technology which enables teachers to integrate information and communication technology into all key learning areas. A well resourced library promotes the development of students' independent learning skills and a love of reading.
