Annandale North Public School

Annandale North Public School (ANPS) is situated in Annandale, an inner-city suburb of Sydney. The school was established in 1907 and the area is rich in history and known for its beautiful homes, historic buildings, churches and wide tree-lined streets. Our aims are to provide a happy and safe learning environment based on quality teaching, participation and high expectations for learning, with opportunities for students to become responsible, self-disciplined members of society. The community values and recognises the importance of the acquisition of knowledge and the development of kindness and courtesy as integral to the development of the whole child. Annandale North is a learning community where the involvement, support and participation of the whole community are valued features. We are known for our strong sense of community and the school enjoys a well-deserved excellent reputation within the local and wider community. We are most fortunate to have a very high level of parent and community participation in the school and their willing assistance and involvement greatly enhances the opportunities available to the students. The school has an experienced and multi-talented staff, dedicated to achieving quality outcomes. ANPS has high expectations for all students, providing quality learning programs that are engaging and differentiated to meet the needs of all learners. Students are challenged to reach their full potential through explicit teaching and learning programs as well as enrichment, extension and support programs. ANPS is well-resourced on all levels with computers and interactive whiteboards in every classroom and a video conferencing room. Our academic, performing arts and sporting achievements are outstanding. Extra-curricular activities include Italian, public speaking, debating, chess, maths olympiad, student leadership and environmental action programs, sporting programs, choir, a large band and string ensemble program and recorder.
